  • Write a short definition for the each of the following:
    • Open Educational Resources (OER) - Educational and teaching resources that is available freely online
    • Open Source - Pragmatic system in which information is shared and produced publicly online
    • Copyright - a legal concept which gives a creator of an original creation or product rights to it for a limited time
    • Intellectual Property Rights- law in which owners are granted certain exclusive rights to various works such as musical, literary, and artistic works; discoveries and inventions. Common types of intellectual property rights include copy rights and trademarks.
    • Creative Commons - a nonprofit organization that enables the sharing and use of creativity and knowledge through free legal tools.
    • Public Domain - works in which intellectual property rights have expired
    • CC Licenses - allows for distribution of copy-written work
    • Curriki - an online education community offering free, open-source instructional materials for K-12.
    • Thinkfinity - a website offering free online educational resources
    • Connexions - a free global collection of educational content provided Rice University.
    • P2PU - online source for educational collaboration, projects created by user and collaborated on by online community
    • EPICEd - A national online community of practice (OCoP) for educators to collaborate, share their expertise, and have access to resource to plan, implement, and sustain technology-enabled learning initiatives funded by the United States Department of Education.
    • 21st Century Skills - set of skills deemed necessary to participate in high-performance workplace of the 21st century
    • Wiki - a website which allows its users to add, modify, or delete content. Most are created collaboratively.
    • Merlot- stands for Multimedia Educational Resource for Learning and Online Teaching and is an online open resource primarily for instructors and learners in higher education to find peer-reviewed materials for teaching and learning
    • Blog - also known as weblog, is an individual’s personal and ongoing updated webpage that is open to view and response from readers.
